Load Test Execution

From planning and delivery of the equipment, through to carrying out the load test and subsequent return transport, right through to documentation, we offer a complete, one-stop service. This means there is no additional work for you, and costs remain within a clearly predictable range. In terms of costs in particular, we can carry out load tests of up to 500 tonnes on site at your premises in a single day, provided the water supply is suitably configured..

For large, complex projects, we offer an on-site consultation to clarify procedures, assess the situation and verify the technical feasibility of the load test. Any special measures required for the test will be highlighted immediately.

Assembly of Test Loads

We offer a range of test weights, which we can tailor to your specific requirements. With our water test weights, water test weights combined with a folding crossbeam, and our modular steel test weights, we can carry out almost any load test and always adapt to your needs and local conditions.

Using our calibrated load cells from our partner Strainstall, we always ensure that our test loads are accurately measured. For large, complex projects, we offer an on-site consultation to clarify procedures, assess the situation and verify the technical feasibility of the load test. Any special measures required for the test are highlighted immediately.

Equipment Rental

If you have experience in carrying out load tests and hold the relevant qualifications, we will hire out our equipment to you following a detailed briefing. This means you will receive equipment that has been optimally maintained, tested and precisely tailored to the specific application for which you require it.

For projects exceeding a certain tonnage or those involving complex set-ups – particularly indoor projects – we only hire out our equipment, for safety and insurance reasons, if one of our technicians is on hand to assist you and your staff.

Inspections according to BetrSichV

We are competent persons for conducting recurring inspections according to BetrSichV, DGUV and TRBS of:

Crane systems – also offshore operated
Winches, lifting and pulling devices
Lifting equipment, load handling accessories
PPE against falls from a height
Industrial trucks and aerial work platforms
Containers and offshore containers

Calibration

In collaboration with our Dutch partner, we carry out the calibration of your Strainstall and PROOFLOAD (Services) B.V. force transducers and subsequently issue the relevant certificates for the calibration. The test bench used for this purpose is calibrated annually by the Dutch Metrology Institute.

Checking the calibration of load cells from other manufacturers is usually not a problem; if necessary, we can recalibrate them following excessive deviation, subject to prior agreement.

Consultation cranes and lifting equipment

Consultation Cranes & Lifting Equipment

We are happy to advise you before you purchase new crane systems or lifting equipment, and we ensure that inspection and maintenance are taken into account. We can assist with carrying out risk assessments and determining inspection and maintenance intervals. We also provide support with the implementation and preparation of work orders, induction training and further training.

We can’t help with everything either, and we don’t know everything, but thanks to our network, we always know someone with the relevant expertise and can put you in touch with them.

Our Equipment

Water Test Weights

Our water test weights are available in increments ranging from 1 tonne to 100 tonnes and can be linked together to accommodate different loads. Using our proprietary distribution system, we can evenly distribute water from various supply points with different pressures across the water test weights.

The permissible test load of the water test weight exceeds its own weight many times over, making transport easier, more cost-effective and more environmentally friendly. We can thus move up to 200 tonnes of test load using a suitable tractor unit and a trailer.

Modular Steel Test Weights

The modular steel test weights we have developed can be assembled in various configurations up to 1.1 tonnes and can be accessed from all sides by pallet trucks and forklift trucks. They can then be stacked in these configurations and hooked into the lifting equipment.

Thanks to their unique design, we are able to dispense with eyelets entirely. The dimensions are kept compact to allow passage even through narrow access routes or tight hatches. As weight plates can be added or removed, the weights can be precisely adapted to the required specifications.

Folding Traverse with Cylindrical Water Test Weights

As the required suspension height for our water test weights is not always available, we have developed our folding crossbeam with cylindrical water test weights. The crossbeam is designed for 13.5 tonnes and can be folded to ISO pallet dimensions for transport.

The cylindrical water test weights can each support 6.3 tonnes. Together with the crossbeam weight, this allows us to apply a test load of 13 tonnes using two cylinders at a suspension height of less than 3 metres. Here too, the weights can be emptied using gravity.

Load Measurement Devices

We source our load measurement devices from our partner BES Strainstall; these are characterised by their simple configuration and the ability to display the loads being measured. This is particularly useful when multiple devices are in use simultaneously. The Smartload software can read and log data from up to 120 devices simultaneously.

In addition to standard devices such as tension transducers, load-measuring shackles, pressure transducers and cable tension measuring devices, we also manufacture and calibrate custom and bespoke units in particular.

PT21 Pulltester for Lifting Eyes and more

The PT21 pull tester from our Australian partner Greenmonster is currently the lightest testing device available for applying tensile loads to eye bolts and screws. Weighing just 10 kg, it can apply up to 21 tonnes of tensile force.

This also allows for vertical and overhead work. Naturally, there are also retaining devices for the attachments to prevent them from falling, as well as various adapters to adjust the height of the pull tester, for example.

For over 15 years, we at PROOFLOAD Services GmbH have been offering load testing services and the hire of equipment for load testing crane systems.

Over the last ten years, we have continuously expanded our range of services and now offer periodic inspections in accordance with the German Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV) for almost any lifting equipment.

Naturally, this is provided as a complete package, including the necessary test loads and the relevant documentation.
